For centuries, the Aarib tribe of nomadic people travelled the trade routes with their caravans to and from every point of the Sahara. Freely crossing boundaries, they carried precious cargoes of salt, spices and incense as well as a rich oral culture of historical events, tales and music.
The Aarib are also pastoralists; they have a profound knowledge of the Saharan ecological system and are notable veterinarians. Due to the closure of the Algerian border with Morocco in the 1960s, many Aaribs settled in the High Atlas, the Draa Valley and the M’hamid area.
Their way of life was now somewhat restricted, and the Aarib had to find other outlets for their skills and many turned their attention to tourism, putting their traveling and camels to a rather different use.
The Elaammari brothers have been running Arib Morocco Travels for more than 10 years and their success lies not just in the execution of their tour itineraries and their consummate organizational skills.
They enrich each tour through Morocco with their deep knowledge, and by freely and enthusiastically sharing their cultural tradition, displaying an infectious passion for their land.
You only have to read their five-star reviews to know that the Elaammari brothers don’t just want you to enjoy a holiday – they want to instil in you the spirit of the High Atlas and the heart of the Sahara. They want you to fall in love. It’s easy to fall in love during the adventure of traveling to Morocco.
